District Details
Huber Heights City Schools proudly serves roughly 5,800 students across nine schools: Studebaker Preschool; Charles Huber, Monticello, Rushmore, Valley Forge, and Wright Brothers elementary schools; Weisenborn Junior High School; Wayne High School; and Warrior Academy. Each school plays a vital role in preparing students to thrive academically, socially, and personally.
From the first day of preschool through high school graduation, the district is committed to providing a high-quality education aligned with Ohio’s Learning Standards. This strong academic foundation ensures students are equipped with the knowledge and skills needed for long-term success.
The district’s curriculum is designed to lay the groundwork for lifelong learning, with a clear progression from early literacy through college and career readiness. At the elementary level, this includes a focus on high-quality instructional materials and the use of evidence-based strategies such as the science of reading.
At Weisenborn Junior High School, students begin exploring their interests through engaging coursework that builds confidence and curiosity. By the time they reach Wayne High School, students can pursue one of eight career-focused pathways in areas such as STEM, business, skilled trades, and health services. Students also have opportunities to challenge themselves with Advanced Placement (AP) and College Credit Plus (CCP) courses, earning college credit while still in high school. Additionally, the Career Tech Center at Wayne High School offers programs where students can learn skills and earn valuable credentials in fields such as welding, HVAC, construction and engineering, biomedical science, interactive media, and agriculture, giving them a head start in their chosen careers.
Huber Heights City Schools offers a wide range of academic services to support student growth, including programs for students with disabilities and enrichment opportunities for gifted learners. The district is committed to helping every student reach their full potential.
Beyond academics, students have access to more than 30 athletic teams at the junior high and high school levels, competing in the Greater Western Ohio Conference. A variety of extracurricular activities, including band, theatre, and Air Force JROTC, give students additional opportunities to explore their passions, build leadership skills, and stay connected to their school community. Each school building in the district also holds the Purple Star designation, recognizing its commitment to supporting military-connected students and families.
With the support of skilled educators, engaged families, and strong community partnerships, Huber Heights City Schools continues to empower students to ACHIEVE TODAY, EXCEL TOMORROW.
Our strategic plan is a comprehensive document designed to focus and guide our district on our journey to continuous improvement for years to come. The plan focuses on four key areas: improving student achievement, growing culture and climate, advancing operational excellence, and enhancing fiscal responsibility.
